A wish for peace in 2024

As we approach the beginning of a new year, Inspire North reflects on the humanitarian disaster which continues to unfold in Gaza.

As an organisation that works with many vulnerable people, we know how trauma brought about by violence can affect not just an individual, but those around them, their families, and their loved ones. We also know that this trauma can last not just a generation, but for many generations to come.

Our thoughts go out to everyone affected by what the world is witnessing in Gaza, including the many people in the UK who are affected deeply by what is happening there.

At a time when, for many people, thoughts turn to family and friends, we join the chorus of voices calling for peace in the Gaza region and hope for a brighter 2024 where kindness, compassion and love will overcome violence and hate.
