Kirklees Dementia Hub
The Kirklees Dementia Hub is a partnership between Inspire North and Age UK Calderdale & Kirklees and offers information and advice on living well throughout the dementia journey as well as signposting to further support in the community.

About the service
We are part of the Dementia Pathway in Kirklees and support anyone affected by dementia. We are an Information and advice service. Our service includes an advice line available Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We also provide dementia awareness sessions for professionals that work in Kirklees.
Appointment Options
We offer flexible appointment types to suit individual needs:
- Telephone Consultations
- Face-to-Face Appointments in community settings
- Home Visits (subject to assessment and agreement with a support worker)
Drop in Sessions
- First Tuesday of the month at Almondbury Library 10am till 1pm
- Every Thursday from the Centre of Excellence (Knowl Park House) Mirfield 10am till 3:30pm
Referrals
You can be referred to our service through the SWYPFT Memory Service, a GP or other healthcare professional, or you can self-refer. We have two referral forms, 1 for professionals referring and 1 for individuals. Groups
We run a weekly social group for people living with dementia aged 65 and below, also known as Young Dementia. This is at Brian Jackson House in the centre of Huddersfield and runs each Thursday 1pm till 3pm.We also run a monthly group called “More than Memory’’ which is an action and discussion group and is part of the national DEEP (dementia engagement and empowerment project) initiative. DEEP This takes place on the first Tuesday of the month at Holmfirth Methodist Church.
