Brad Strutt

IT and Cyber Board Champion

Tell us a little about your professional background?

I’m a senior IT professional with over 16 years of experience across education, not-for-profit, and private sector organisations. My background is in leading IT strategy, building strong teams, and helping organisations use technology in ways that really make a difference. I'm currently Group Head of IT, working closely with leadership to drive digital change and long-term planning.

How long have you served on the Inspire North board and what motivated you to be on the board?

I joined the Inspire North board because I believe in the impact the organisation has on people’s lives. With a background in the not-for-profit sector and a strong connection to the values Inspire North stands for, I wanted to use my skills to help support the strategic direction of the organisation and give something back. It’s been incredibly rewarding to be part of a team that genuinely wants to make a difference.

What’s one thing you're passionate about outside of work?

Outside of work, I love keeping active. I am a member of a local running club and in the last few years, I completed the Leeds Triathlon and the London Marathon, raising money for charity along the way. It’s a challenge, but it's something that keeps me grounded and focused.

Who or what inspires you personally or professionally?

I’m inspired by people who lead with integrity and purpose. I’ve been lucky to work with some great leaders who’ve shown that you can drive progress and still stay true to your values. That’s something I try to carry forward in both my work and volunteer roles.

What advice would you give to someone looking to make a difference in their community?

Start small and stay consistent. You don’t need to change the world overnight - just showing up, offering your skills, and caring about the outcome goes a long way. Community impact builds over time, and sometimes just being present is enough to create real change.
