PRIDE Month at Inspire North!
June is PRIDE Month! Inspire North wants to make sure we celebrate the LGBTQIA+ colleagues and clients we work with. Pride month is about acceptance, equality, celebrating the work of LGBTQIA+ people, education in queer history and raising awareness of issues affecting the LGBTQIA+ community.
This year, we have launched a Pride Flag competition where all services are encouraged to design their own flag with their clients. The flags will then be in the running to become Inspire North’s official PRIDE flag! 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
The LGBTQIA+ Network will choose the winner of the competition and the flag will be made into banners and used across the pride events Inspire North will be attending.
Leeds Pride will be taking place on the 7th of August, and we’ll be hosting a stall and moving around the parade in a vintage bus with Leeds Mind. To find out more about Leeds Pride, visit: www.leedspride.com

Linking Leeds is an integrated, free city-wide Social Prescribing service for people in Leeds. Social Prescribing is a way of linking individuals with a range of local community services to improve social, emotional and mental wellbeing.
Linking Leeds focuses on connecting people, so that you can share your experiences and develop new support networks.
These links can range from support with Angels of Freedom, a community based initiative, or Friends of Dorothy, a befriending service connects you with an LGBTQ+ person who will call once a week for a friendly chat. The service can also support you to attend social events with the Flamingos coffee house or even to make you aware of local gems like the LGBTIQA+ book shop; The Bookish Type.
What matters to you, matters to us. To learn about how they can link you to various groups, visit the Linking Leeds website: linkingleeds.com
