We're seeking a strategic, experienced professional to join our Board, bringing specialist knowledge of the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH) framework and the wider housing sector.

The Role

As a Board Member, you’ll play a vital role in overseeing our compliance with regulatory standards, upholding our commitment to clients, tenants and stakeholders.

Your experience in the housing sector and understanding of the RSH regulatory environment will be instrumental.

As the Housing Board Champion, you will also be the Member Responsible for Complaints (MRC). You’ll liaise with our Quality & Compliance Team on the production of our annual Housing Ombudsman Code of Complaints Report and support Senior Leadership to set the tone of a positive complaint handling culture at Board/Executive level.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has:

  • Proven experience in housing, ideally with direct involvement in RSH regulatory frameworks
  • The ability to promote a positive complaint handling culture, particular in relation to Housing.
  • A strong understanding of governance, risk, and assurance in a regulated environment
  • Strategic insight, with the ability to challenge constructively and supportively

We welcome all applications and encourage those with lived experience and from a diverse range of backgrounds to apply to ensure our Board truly reflects the communities we work with.

Your Commitment:

You will need to be able to commit to approximately 1 day each month (cumulatively). This includes meetings, reading papers, away days, etc. Both the Board and the Operations and Development Sub-Committee meet quarterly on a Friday.

You do not need previous board experience.

You’ll receive a full induction and will be supported by other Board Members and the Chief Executive. If this is your first board role or you have areas needing development, we can look to support you with training.
